Ralph FawazTele-Hope
I started Tele-Hope because everyone should be heard. Many people all around the world feel left out, alone, hurt, misunderstood etc. and not very many people take the time to listen or be there. I love the community of Laramie, I love the state of Wyoming, togetherness is what this state is about, and Tele-Hope wants to build a strong community of hope and belongingness for the people within the organization. I encourage others to serve not because of the feeling it may give you, but to truly help others. At Tele-Hope we believe everyone has a story for someone, no problem is too big or too small.

Tele-Hope strives to make the community a better place for our young adults. Tele-Hope also wants to help our student athlete population in realizing that they can be impactful outside of their sport, as athletes tend to get so focused on just their sport. As the executive director I have been very deliberate about making sure people know Tele-Hope is for any kid (age 11-18). We are open to everyone who may have a big story or something small like getting a C on an exam. This has drawn in many student-athlete partners, and more kids from all kinds of backgrounds. I could not do what I do without the support of the surrounding community. This community has made an impact on me and I want to give thanks to Laramie by being there for the ones who feel unheard. Ralph has a heart for teenagers that are struggling with mental health, lack of connection, and missing guidance and acceptance in their life. Despite his extremely demanding schedule and lack of financial assets Ralph didn’t sit on the sidelines and point out a problem, he got to work. He started a non-profit organization called Tele-Hope that seeks to connect teens in need with college athletes that can mentor and spend time with these kids. Ralph invested his limited resources to open and furnish a location in town to initiate these connections and provide a safe place to grow them. Ralph has energetically cast his vision to anyone he can and continues to not give up on seeing it completed. Ralph’s vision is to find those kids that slip through the cracks and to let them know they are seen, they are important, and that they are worth investing time into. |
