Nicole SherwoodLaramie Connections
I love our community. Laramie gives back in so many different ways- a collection of services and people that strive to serve any imaginable need. Our service community is responsive to feedback, and is always looking to better serve its community.
I encourage everyone to volunteer, because there is a spot that will fit their areas of interest, and there are always people and organizations who need help. Read More
Connections is pragmatic, hands-on service, to me. The diversity of volunteers to the diversity of clients speaks to me. No unspoken socioeconomic standard is required; Connections wants people who are just happy to serve. It's also a reminder that most of us could be in need at any point - a paycheck or two away from not having food or a running vehicle- and that were all more alike than different. the human connection fills my cup. Nicole has been a faithful volunteer with us for quite some time. We are incredibly blessed to have her! She started out looking for a way to do some volunteer work in the community with her kids. Every week she would take them with her to the soup kitchen to help deliver meals to people. People fell in love with her and her children. We would get calls of how great it was to see them and how above and beyond they went to make people feel loved. Nicole is also involved in helping cook and serve our Sunday Dinner group. She is one to always "gather the troops" with her, bringing others from the community to help serve our community. Her love and compassion for others is something we adore about, Nicole and we are very thankful to have her serving with Connections! Nicole Sherwood is the September Volunteer of the Month for Laramie Connections Center.
