Andrew SpicerLaramie Connections
In my role as Recreation Coordinator at Cathedral home for Children I am able to promote and inspire volunteerism amongst the kids. It helps to promote self-esteem, self-confidence, and satisfaction in knowing they are making a difference. The first time we received a big smile and a thank you from one of our friends, that was all we needed to become hooked. I would encourage everyone to go see what that feels like.

The Laramie Connections mission aligns with ours on helping people. Laramie Connections is able to let us know about community events and how we can help out. We have been able to serve/deliver meals, clean up after events, shovel for seniors, set up sound for events, work a dunk tank, run games, and so much more. The impact is felt immediately by us and the clients. When connections are made everyone feels good about a conversation and a smile! Andrew was one of the very first volunteers as well as one of the longest-serving volunteers for Laramie Connections Center. As the Rec Director of Cathedral Home, he loves to find a way to get his students involved and connected. Whether that’s helping with a community event (like the Territorial Prisons Pumpkin Walk) or volunteering time to help with meal deliveries. It's not often you will see Andrew without seeing one of ‘his kids' with him out and about making a difference in this community. He has been a consistent voice and help in everything Laramie Connections does. Being around Andrew you can see the love and compassion that shines through him. He is always looking for a way to do more. Recently, Andrew has joined the board of Laramie Connections and we are thrilled to have his voice as an influence in leadership. Andrew Spicer is the June Volunteer of the Month for Laramie Connections Center.
